Window manufacturers need adhesives capable of withstanding extreme climate conditions while offering greater flexibility in processing. Conventional profile wrapping windows relies on adhesives that demand high melting temperatures, putting extreme stress on equipment and requiring tightly controlled ambient conditions for consistent production. These limitations caused failures for a customer that was using a traditional adhesive. They came to Daubert seeking a next-generation adhesive solution.
Daubert developed and optimized a specialized series of adhesives for exterior profile wrapping, which led to the creation of Daubond U8101-0N. This product was unlike any other HMPUR previously formulated and was engineered specifically for the window profile wrapping industry. Plus, Daubond U8101-0N is also compatible with a non-methylene chloride primer, which is critical as methylene chloride continues to be phased out.
Daubond U8101-0N delivered exceptional processing flexibility, operating at temperatures ranging from 90°C to 120°C, offering smooth flow and high tack. This helped our customer tailor application conditions to their specific production needs. The adhesive also features a crosslinking mechanism that activates over 24 hours, forcing a permanent bond that withstands extreme conditions and resists plasticizer migration from PVC substrates. Providing both reliability and performance, our customer called Daubond U8101-0N “the best product I’ve ever used, there’s no other like it."
