Job Description: 

Daubert Chemical Company is seeking a temp-to-hire first shift plant Utility Worker at its chemical manufacturing plant located near Midway Airport in Forest View, IL. TEMP TO HIRE POSITION: Temporary employee through a staffing agency during training and 90-working day evaluation period. Must be able to work 5am-1:30pm Monday-Friday. Upon successful completion of training, the position is offered as a 1st Shift Formulator at Daubert with eligibility for full-time benefits package.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Drum filling:

Review drumming sheets for each order. Locate drums, kegs, totes or pails as required by customer. Transport to filling area via hand or lift truck. Set pumps and filters using proper safety and quality procedures. Draw sample for QA. Fill containers, monitoring pump pressure. Weigh container and calculate weight to gallons. Label and record filled containers on drumming sheets.

Chemical Formulator/Operator:

Assist department Formulators in the batch making process; operate chemical processing equipment to formulate standard or custom products according to product specifications. Follow production schedule; follow batch sheet instructions and set up, weigh, measure, and mix ingredients in proper sequence, adding raw materials manually or with pumps and meters. Accurately record required information on batch sheet. Rotate stock, track inventory, submit samples to QA. Eventually need to be familiar with basic formulating procedures for any Production Department.

  • Clean equipment as required. Participate in housekeeping in the facility according to 5S.
  • Work mandatory scheduled weekday and weekend overtime as needed. Work adjusted hours as business necessitates.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Follows, without exception, all work instructions, SOP’s, and safety rules, including use of all proper PPE and other safety equipment. Use of a respirator is required.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Related chemical operator experience is preferred
  • Must be able to read and write English
  • Mechanical aptitude; familiarity with valves and pumps desired
  • Problem-solving ability; makes efficient use of time
  • Strong understanding of basic math
  • Ability to be trained and safely operate a forklift
  • Works well within a team and able to follow specific directions
  • Punctuality and excellent attendance are expected

Daubert Chemical Company is seeking a Warehouse Manager who is responsible for managing the flow of material into, through and out of the facility, maintaining supplies and equipment, and supervising the Shipping Team. This position requires experience in industrial manufacturing warehousing or distribution center operations. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Traffic Manager.

Daubert Chemical Company is seeking a Warehouse Manager who is responsible for managing the flow of material into, through and out of the facility, maintaining supplies and equipment, and supervising the Shipping Team. This position requires experience in industrial manufacturing warehousing or distribution center operations. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Traffic Manager.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

WAREHOUSE:

  • Responsible for ensuring materials are received into the facility, placed into proper storage and manufacturing locations and shipped out of the facility according to company procedures.
  • Responsible for the organization and housekeeping of the warehouse and stock locations and ensuring inventory lists are properly maintained.
  • Ensures facility trailer moves with the spotter are completed in a timely manner and trailer location map is maintained.  
  • Ensure row inventory lists are maintained and FIFO procedures are followed.
  • Monitor department supply levels and submit purchase orders for supply replenishment.
  • Monitor shipping department equipment readiness. Enter maintenance requests as needed to ensure safe operating condition.
  • Schedule carriers for outbound shipments and submit freight claims to carriers as required.
  • Coordinate with sales, management and customers for material returns and complete required documentation.
  • Communicates effectively with all departments for material requirements and availability.
  • Identify and report container damages and loss of material to production scheduler.
  • Promote a safe working environment by enforcing OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
  • Follows all local, state, federal and international regulations.

TEAM MANAGER:

  • Directly supervise shipping team in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable Department of Labor regulations.
  • Assign daily work assignments, appraise performance, reward and discipline as needed, address complaints and resolve issues.
  • Ensure Shipping team members are properly trained and follow all local, state, and international shipping regulations.
  • Promote a positive team environment.
  • Coordinate time off requests and approve payroll for team members.
  • Timely and professional communication with internal and external customers is essential.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • High school diploma or GED is required. Bachelor’s or Associates degree is preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory position in a fast-paced manufacturing or distribution environment is required.
  • Must be certified in DOT HazMat CFR49 regulations.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer, utilizing Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must understand file management system and possess the ability to learn new programs or software to process job responsibilities accurately.
  • Strong mathematical skills; Ability to calculate shipment weights, volume and trailer load and distribution requirements.
  • Self-starter; stay organized and multitask throughout day with changing priorities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
